Playing everyone’s Jimmy Buffet favorites, along with a mix of Island party classics, Jimmy and the Parrots have been busy entertaining audiences from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Maryland, all the way down to Key West, Florida. They have built up a devoted following of Island music fans, Parrotheads (the official fan club for Jimmy Buffet), and just about anyone looking for a good time. Their shows are frequented by Hawaiian shirt wearing revelers, and the accoutrements always include beach balls, leis, beads, and other assorted island flavored party favors. One of their performances, from the Meeting of the Minds Parrothead Convention in Key West, was broadcast live around the world on Radio Margaritaville. Their ode to life in Key West, the song “Yea Mon” was included in a beach music compilation CD “Thongs in the Key of Life, Vol. II” The band is the musical vision of Jimmy Maraventano, who describes the music just as it comes across. “Fun, party, on a beach, sand, margaritas, bikinis, dancing, enjoy life while you can,” he exclaims. “I always wanted to stand on stage, with people having a good time and me being a part of it.” The band has performed at numerous functions of mid-Atlantic region Parrothead clubs, Philadelphia 76ers Pre-Game Parties at the First Union Center in Philadelphia, the Meadowlands Fair (held at Giants Stadium in New Jersey), Bethlehem, Pennsylvania’s famed Musikfest (where they were the only band to get called back for an encore), the Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival in Philadelphia, TropicalFest, the Dream Come True Foundation Fundraiser, the Jimmy Buffet Pre-Concert Party at the Tweeter Center in New Jersey, New Jersey’s Quik-Chek Balloon Festival, and many corporate events, club and beach parties. |
