Hi Jim,
Thank you for writing. I was planning to write to you to thank you as well. People haven't stopped talking about the great band at our bar mitzvah. You made our party a huge success and we thank you for agreeing to share the day with us.
You guys are truly amazing and an inspiration to all 3 of our kids.
Mikey loves the guitar. It was so kind of you to do that.
Thank you for the kind words about my kids' performances. I am very proud of them and think they are great, but I'm their mother. It means so much more coming from you.
I'm sure the boys would love to jam with you any time.
I'm sure we'll see you again soon - we'll be sure to pop up at your shows. One of my friends who was at the bar mitzvah called Saturday night to say they were taking out of town relatives to Jenkinson's to see you this past Saturday. They said they were so impressed with how you sound exactly like the artists you are covering. How do you do that? It's amazing! Scott wanted to go see you, but his girlfriend is only 20 and when he called they said she wasn't allowed in. He'll try another time.
The tribute to Uncle Paul was very special to me and my family. And you blended in so smoothly - he transition was done beautifully. I didn't know Uncle Paul knew how to play any Billy Joel songs! I'll have to share that info with the family. I would love to give you a copy of one of his CDs. Adam may be able to provide you with one. Ask him when you see him. Otherwise, I think my mother has extra copies that I can get to you.
Scott, Eric and Adam are working hard on getting their band ready to play out. I'm sure they are open to any suggestions you can offer from your experience. Adam's brother-in-law is the singer, but they are looking for an additional one. Maybe you guys will get to share the stage at a show one day. Scott also has a degree in audio engineering, so if you know of anyone who needs a fill-in drummer or a sound man, please mention his name. He will be graduating from Rutger's next year and needs to get his name out. He teaches drums at Sweet Music Academy in Howell, but needs to do more than that to support himself.
Thanks again for agreeing to play our party and for making all the difference in the event.
Please keep in touch and say hello to Thea for us. We hope Evan had a nice time at the party. He is very talented too. I apologize for not bringing him over to the dais. My brain wasn't functioning at 100% that day. I realized the next day that I should have included Evan more.
Thanks again for everything,
Amy and Russell

The Nerds, May 06, 2006
Thank you Jim, Jack, Peter, Mike, Tim, Mat, Mary Anne and the others for helping make Mike and Jen’s wedding reception such a huge success. The whole production was outstanding, the music was right on and the extent of your lighting was a pleasant surprise. You certainly kept the party going and that excitement generated some pretty spontaneous and memorable action on the dance floor… which by the way stayed packed throughout the night. I can't tell you how important it was for me to have this event come off without a hitch and I couldn't be more pleased with the way it turned out.
And on a more personal note, thank you for putting Mike on guitar. Words can't describe a father's feelings watching his son jam with The Nerds in front of all the people that matter most in his life. Fantastic!!! What a plus!!! Priceless!!! Thank you Peter for giving up your guitar, Jack for turning over your drums, Jim and Mike for helping my son sound so good.
All this days events were special and together will be a day Barbara and I will never forget.
Mike's dad, Jim

Dear Mr. Tarkanish:
We were very pleased to be able to contract ‘The Nerds’ for my party on Saturday, June 26th. Everyone had a great time. I got so many compliments that this was the best party yet. The music was perfect and everyone I spoke with said the same thing. The music was versatile and everyone got to dance and have a great time.
Even my secretary was the center of attention, little did they know. She was very surprised and was sure it was planned. But it wasn’t. Her favorite entertainer is Neil Diamond and the song he picked was “You Don’t Send Me Flowers.” It really was perfect.
Many, many of our guests took your little calendar of upcoming events in the area. I know several who have planned to see them at the Jersey Shore over this coming holiday weekend.
Again, thank you for a great performance on Saturday and we will definitely call you again for our next party. And Mary Ann Marchesin was definitely a great help in planning our party.
Sincerely,
Bob Muir

Dear Mary Anne,
Just a quick note to tell you how much we enjoyed having Dog Voices play our wedding. They have great talent, not the least of which is their ability to judge an audience. Perhaps that’s their greatest skill. They merged familiar hits with classic rock and cool new stuff. And they are really nice guys to boot!
Chris D’amico was terrific as well. He helped set a wonderful tone throughout and his keyboard, DJ and announcing work was superb. We really enjoyed it, and so did our guests.
Thanks again,
Tyler

Dear Dog Voices and S.T.A.R.S.,
We had to drop you a line and tell you what an incredible performance you put on at our wedding reception. After 2 months, everyone is still telling us it was the best reception they have been to, and are looking for information on how to book you for their special events. We know people who are trying to come up with a reason to have a party, just so they can book you!!! The manager at the reception facility said several times throughout the night "I've never seen the dance floor so full of people." That was evident by a room full of empty chairs almost all night long. We have heard several stories of people ripping their dresses because of all the dancing they did. The music that you chose was an excellent mix that EVERYONE enjoyed, from our younger cousins to Jen's 83 year old Grandmother, who by the way, is still talking about her dance at the end of the night. You all did an amazing job getting the crowd in the mood, and making yourselves approachable for any requests. We expected nothing less and the band alone truly made the reception what we wanted it to be. Jen and I are so happy that you took the time to learn our wedding song, and allowed her sister, Jacqui, to perform along with you. It was yet just another special touch that helped make the day personal and more then we ever could have imagined.
We are so pleased with how professional and attentive all of you and S.T.A.R.S. Productions were to our needs. You handled everything, and we didn't have to worry about a thing on our hectic day. You made our day very special and the talk of the town. Thank you for being part of it.

Dear Maryann, Steve, Spaz, Mongo, Stretch, Biff, and the rest of the staff,
“Best Wedding Ever”, “Greatest Party I’ve ever been to”, are just some of the comments we have been receiving from our wedding guests following The Nerds performance at our August 23, 2003 reception at the Bridgewater Marriott. From the initial contract signing to the last song played, The Nerds and S.T.A.R.S. Productions were a class act. Maryann certainly made the business side easy, and what more can I possibly say about how great The Nerds played. The Marriott had us scheduled until 10:30PM that night, and when things finally wrapped at 12:30AM there was no doubt the crowd would have taken 5 more hours of music. I know the guys in the band play a full schedule of gigs, but Tricia and I would like to personally thank them for making us feel like they were playing for a sell out crowd at Madison Square Garden. I wish The Nerds and the entire staff at S.T.A.R.S. Productions continued success and if there is ever any reference or any other service we can provide please do not hesitate to call on us.

Dear Maryann and S.T.A.R.S. Productions
On Behalf of the more than 32,000 members of the New Jersey State Policemen’s Benevolent Association, Inc., I want to take this opportunity to thank all the members of Big Orange Cone, Dog Voices, and The Benjamins for donating their time and talent to perform at the NJSPBA Survivor & Welfare Benefit that was held this past Sunday at Jenkinson’s.
Without the participation of these bands, the event would have not been as successful as it was.
I am hopeful that Big Orange Cone, Dog Voices, and The Benjamins will be able to join us for another Survivor & Welfare Benefit next year.
Please extend my sincere thanks to everyone for their great performances.

Please also pass on our note note to the "Nerds" for us. They really are #1 in our book!
Again, Thanks for all you did
Sincerely,
Tony & Dory

Guys
WOW!!!! On August 17, The Nerds played at our wedding reception at The Madison Hotel and what an event it turned out to be. My guests all expected only a DJ, so when they saw a band they were quite surprised—then when they realized what band it was—the place went crazy!! From the second that you began to play the dance floor was packed!! There was a point where not a single person could fit on the floor. Honestly, we can’t think of a wedding where Metallica was played—and people liked it!!
Its been almost 3 weeks since the blessed event and the people are still talking about the reception—I believe the words were “It was the best wedding I ever went to”
We owe you a great thank you. From start to finish it was a pleasure dealing with both the band and with S.T.A.R.S. Productions. Maryann was the primary person I dealt with and she was fantastic—I had no worries about things going smoothly—and as a “Bride-to-be” worries can be endless.
Truly, we just cant say thank you enough. I’m sure you’ll see us again in the crowd soon.
Thanks again!!

On behalf of the National Notary Association, I would like to extend our appreciation for your invaluable contribution to our annual Conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Your involvement as the entertainment for our Welcome Reception was extremely beneficial. Your program brought about the high energy needed for our attendees to get excited to learn about the professionalism of being a notary. Both you and your assistant had an uncanny ability to read the crowd and set the up-beat rhythm of our conference for notaries from around the United States.
We appreciate the time and effort you spent in preparation for the program and we thank you again for your participation. On a personal note, I enjoyed dancing and sharing the stage with the two of you!
Yours truly,
Tawnya

We knew right away that the jonzes had the sound we were looking for. Once a partnership was established, we learned quickly that the Jonzes were willing to accommodate our song and announcment requests. They adapted to our timeline and fulfilled every request during the planning process. The band checked in with us prior to the event to confirm all details and once again asked us if we had additional special requests. The band showed up to our wedding on time, worked well with other vendors, looked great and respected everyone around them.
The cocktail hour music sounded perfect--exactly what we requested and the high energy blues jam that welcomed everyone into the reception set the tone for the event. It was the remaining 4 hours of our wedding when the band stole the show. They impressed everyone with their supreme musical talents, excellent music selection and their ability to play some real rock and roll, which is often not the case with average wedding bands. We love how they sounded and they kept the dance floor completley filled from the time the reception started until the vary last note they played. Since the wedding, we have been asked dozens of times about our band and have received compliments from our vendors and friends about their professionalism and class. We could not have been happier working with the Jonzes and know that we will work with them again in the future.

This is just a very, very big thank you. The Nerds did a boat party in Long Beach Island, N.J. for my daughter Dawn's 40th Birthday. I just have to tell you all what a pleasure it was. You played for all age groups. I just had to take the time to say...Thank you, from the mother of the Birthday girl, Dawn. My son-in-law P.J. did a fine job with the band and made her day a pleasurable memory.
THANK YOU

Dana of the Trump Boyz,
Thanks for being such a big part of the Pine Barrens Festival this year! Great weather, great entertainment, and great advertising combined to give us a record year, at least by the early numbers. Monday was the biggest opening night in our history.
The 2007 PBF is Aug 6-11. We definitely want you back for another engagement. I’ll be in touch later to firm up specific dates.
I’m considering adding a third Country band to the line up. You now know the festival and what we’re about. Got any suggestions for bands for us? I’ll be happy to get any other suggestions you have to make the festival even more successful.
Thanks again,
Jim
