Steve Tarkanish jumpstarted The Benjamins when they were a band called Big Toe. He went to see them at a very small club with a modest crowd on rt. 17 Paramus New Jersey. "The stage was about the size of a kitchen table and these guys were jumping all over the place. At that moment, I saw great potential,” Steve said. After going through a few member changes, Big Toe became The Benjamins.

A force to be reckoned with in the northeast's hottest clubs, from Vermont to Delaware covering over a half dozen states, THE BENJAMINS take the stage with an energy and presence rivaled by none in the scene. Always on the cutting edge and fresh, yet maintaining a sense of the value of the past, THE BENJAMINS create a personalized repertoire for each venue or date they play.

The band also adds to their song list every week, so a new experience can be had at every show. And whether it be from today's modern hit list, or a classic from yesterday, the band is certain it has something for you.

STARS Productions promoted THE BENJAMINS to participate in VH1's Cover Wars show that showcased the band's versatility and ability to ad lib. The show aired on the network in July of 2001. After that experience, THE BENJAMINS became synonymous with quality entertainment. STARS booked the band in several high-end special events (including Continental Airlines Arena and Madison Square Garden), charitable organizations, private entities, educational institutions as well weddings!

Steve Tarkanish and STARS Productions have booked The Benjamins at events that include corporate parties for the NBA, MSNBC, STARS premier showcases, Budweiser, and Trump Hotel and Casino Resorts. Schools that have hired the band include the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), Stockton College and William Paterson University - to name just a few.

THE BENJAMINS continue to amaze with distinctly great songs, an awesome stage persona, and a killer show. Let THE BENJAMINS be part of your entertainment plans!
